When Kenny Logan started to notice improvements on the rugby pitch from his involvement in the Dore Program, so did his coach Ian McGeechan, who introduced Dore Sport to the London Wasps rugby team. The current European Champions were the first Professional Sporting Club to have their players participate in the Dore Sport Program, beginning in 2006, and the results were astonishing.
Spurred on by the amazing results experienced by teams in the UK the Dore Sport Program was offered to elite athletes and teams in Australasia.
The first trial was conducted in Australia including 8 members of the Emirates Western Force rugby union team with the players and coaches all extremely impressed with the results.
One player, Digby Ioane, stated in an interview that the Dore Sport Program was responsible for his selection to the Wallabies in 2007, saying "Before I had this Program it was really hard for me. Now life is just easy... If I hadn't done the Dore Program it could have taken me five years to make the Wallabies." Ioane has also experienced an incredible amount of improvement off the field with his reading, writing, spelling and social skills. More testimonials.
Former All Blacks coach, player and captain - and current coach of the Western Force - John Mitchell, is so impressed with the results these 8 players delivered to the club, he has already committed more players to the Dore Sport Program.

Dore Sport uses a series of structured exercises which are designed to stimulate the cerebellum, a mandarin-sized part at the back of the brain that controls motor skills and balance and is also important in developing language and learning skills.
Athletes on Dore Sport are assessed by a range of cognitive & physiological tests. The results from these tests form a report on each individual athlete which highlights the areas of potential cerebellar development and in turn skill development.
The report focuses on areas such as practical skills, in particular; close perception, consistency, accuracy, distance perception, impulsivity, sound processing and reaction speed. The report also measures mind skills, such as concentration, focus, emotional control, decision making, mental tiring, set play retention and spatial awareness.
The results of the report then determine the set of exercises that is prescribed to each individual athlete in order to stimulate the cerebellum. The exercises are more intense than the standard Dore Program and the length of the Program is typically six months.
As every athlete will respond differently to the stimulation, they are required to be re-assessed every 4 weeks at a Dore clinic and based on this assessment, the personalised exercise prescription is modified.
The exercises do not teach any sport specific skills, however the memory retention and the automaticity that is developed assists processing ability and results in more working memory being available. This free working memory space is key to making quick, precise decisions and accurate judgements which can give players the "inches" that are required at the most elite level.
The Dore Sport Program is unique as it not only offers elite athletes and teams the opportunity to maximise their natural sporting abilities in a more consistent and automatic manner but also offers the opportunity for enhancement in their everyday lives and overall well-being.
Many of the athletes which have participated in the Program have noted marked improvements with their sporting skills with many also experiencing a great number of improvements off the field in areas such as reading, writing, spelling, concentration and social skills.
As any coach or athlete at an elite level would know, even the smallest advantage can make a huge difference. Dore Sport offers that advantage.
